Winter Break Closure & Resources

Announcements

Dear students,

In observance of Winter Break, all University departments (including Health & Wellness departments and the pharmacy) will close on Friday, December 22 at 5 p.m. and remain closed until Monday, January 8 at 8:30 a.m. During this period, students may utilize the following resources, also featured on the Campus Life website

  • Administrator On Call (AOC): The AOC is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for assistance with urgent matters. To reach the AOC, which is staffed by members of the Division of Campus Life, call 401-863-3322 and ask to speak to the Administrator On Call. 

  • Emergency Services: In the event of an emergency, the Department of Public Safety is available 24/7 at 401-863-4111. 

  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

  • Health Services: Students may call 401-863-1330 for 24/7 nursing advice. For emergency medical care, please call 401-863-4111 to be connected with the appropriate resources. Visit the Health Services website for more information.

  • Sexual Assault Response Line: Call 401-863-6000. A 24-hour, confidential telephone line for crisis response in an incident of sexual or interpersonal violence. You will reach a counselor who will ask some questions to gauge your emotional and physical safety and guide you through your options for seeking emotional support, healthcare, reporting and/or legal aid.

Prescriptions

The Brown University pharmacy will close on December 22 at 5 p.m. and reopen on January 8 at 8:30 a.m. Information about transferring prescriptions is available on the pharmacy website

Masks and Testing

The University has high-quality KN95 masks and COVID-19 test kits available 24/7 at no cost for all undergraduate, graduate and medical students at the Key Office in Grad Center E. This office is open at all hours on a daily basis. 

Free COVID-19 tests are also available to be shipped at no cost to households and campus addresses through COVID.gov. Students are encouraged to check all tests for extended expiration dates as these dates are often extended.
