Announcements

The 26th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27, 2024 - 9AM to 4PM

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Read a more information about the day in this pamphlet produced by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Prescription Take Back Available on Campus at the Brown University Pharmacy

Since January 2024 the Brown University Pharmacy has offered the campus an easy, safe way to dispose of unused and expired medications. All members of the Brown University community (Faculty, staff and students) can drop off unwanted medications anytime the pharmacy is open. A detailed list of the items which can be accepted is included below.  Click here for more information on the Pharmacy Location and Pharmacy Hours.

Why bring medications for proper disposal?

Properly Disposing of prescription medications prevents environmental damage by diverting medications from our waterways and reduces the likelihood that medications will be misused.

How does it work?

Simply bring your unused or expired medications to the Brown University Pharmacy and hand them over to a pharmacist for disposal in the take back kiosk, no questions asked.
